What We Did:

This started out as a decking area built from traditional softwood decking timber. However after a good few years use the timber had started to rot and degrade to the point this area was unusable. The property owners wanted to revive this little sun trap and do so with a product that was a lot more resilient to the elements and would provide a permanent seating area. So we created a patio area using 20mm outdoor rated porcelain tiles that are designed to imitate wood – complete with graining and wood-like texture! This paving is also slightly riven in texture to give a non-slip surface. The paving was cut and laid to fit within an edging created with reclaimed railway sleepers. We’re pleased to say the client was delighted with the finished job and they’ll be enjoying this area on those sunny days long into the future.
